Shoegazers was a genre of music that encapsulated wall-of-sound type bands like “My Bloody Valentine”, “Catherine Wheel” and of course Swervedriver.  The Swervies epitomized this movement and after seeing them live last night I can tell you it is…well…odd.

You see they are so into the music, into their art, that they don’t interact with the audience. At. All.

Adam Franklin (the front man) mumbled something to the crowd at the start and then mumbled something at the end and that was it.  Besides that there was no banter, no connection, not even many glances at the audience.  It was weird.

Anyways, they do play good music and once they got the sound levels right (about the 4th song) the rest of the concert was great.  Here they are in New York earlier this year playing the Birds.

I can’t respectably root for a club in the Championship (England's tier 2 league).  I’m gonna have to change clubs.  I am leaning towards Fullham.  Clint Dempsey plays for them and they are a top mid-table club on the rise.  So. Wolverhampton, you are on notice.  I can find a new team if you don’t sharpen up your play here at the end of the season.
