According to this site (The Offiside) places it a total of eight (8!) divisions below Villareal.

Granted, the Mariners have played 43 home games to the Sounders 15, and therefore the statistic doesn’t mean much, but still it is a very impressive number and really puts a stamp on the top-tier professional status of the club.
